Backpack Project

Some years ago, we decided as a fraternity that we wanted to offer a tangible tribute to one of our deceased brothers John Haynes. John was an adjunct professor at Worsham College of Mortuary Science, so we decided that whatever form our tribute to him took, it would involve children. After deliberation, it was decided that we would commence a back pack project, distributing back packs to needy children every summer at our annual Board meeting. Our first back packs were distributed in Myrtle Beach South Carolina and we have continued ever since. May chapters and individuals contribute pack backs items while the national body of Epsilon Nu Delta bears responsibility for ordering the back packs. In addition to school supplies, we also include seasonal items (such as hats, scarves and mittens for locations in the north) when appropriate. To date we have distributed over 500 back packs and we are still going strong!
